Robyn Rihanna Fenty NH[2] (/ri'aen@(/ri'aen@ (listen) REE-AN -@;[3][4][n 1] was born February 20, 1988) is a Barbadian singer, actress, and businesswoman. Rihanna, who was born in Saint Michael and grew up in Bridgetown, Barbados became an audition for Evan Rogers, an American record producer. He invited her to the United States to record demo tapes. Following her signing with Def Jam in 2005, Rihanna gained acclaim with the release of her first two studio albums, Music of the Sun (2005) and A Girl Like Me (2006) and A Girl Like Me (2006), both of which were inspired by Caribbean music and climbed into the top ten on the US Billboard 200 chart. Good Girl Gone Bad, Rihanna's third studio album, was influenced by dance-pop. It established her as an iconic sex figure in the music industry. Rihanna was awarded her first Grammy Award for "Umbrella" the chart-topping track which launched Rihanna to international stardom. Her next studio albums, Rated R (2010) and Loud (2010) and Talk That Talk (2011), continued her mix of R&B and pop music. Unapologetic (2012) was her first Billboard 200 top-ten album. A string of chart-topping singles were released from the albums such as "Rude Boy", ("Only Girl in the World")", and "What's My Name?" ", "S&M", "We Discovered Love", "Where Have You Been" and "Diamonds". Anti (2016) was her eighth studio album. It showcased her new creativity after her departure from Def Jam. It became her second US number one album , and featured the chart-topping single "Work". In her professional career, Rihanna has collaborated with various artists like Drake, Eminem, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Ne-Yo and Shakira. Rihanna has sold more than 250 million records all over the world is the second highest-selling female artist in the field of music. Rihanna has had number one and 31 top ten top singles in the US as well as a top ten single in the UK with 30 songs. She has been awarded nine Grammy Awards, thirteen American Music Awards (including Icon Award) and 12 Billboard Music Awards and six Guinness World Records. She also received the NAACP's President's Award. Time named her one among the 100 most influential persons worldwide in 2012, 2018, and 2019. Forbes classified her as one of the top 10 celebrities with the highest earnings in 2012/2014. As of 2022 she was the richest female musician, with a net value of $1.4 billion. [5][6]
