Anita Ekberg

Anita Ekberg is a Swedish actor from Sweden. Her roles were in numerous films, both European and American. She is best known for playing the role of "La Dolce Vita," a comedy-drama film. In 1960, the film was awarded with the Golden Palm and an Oscar from the Cannes Film Festival. The movie also enjoyed commercial and critical success. She was born in Skane and worked as model prior to embarking on an acting career. She won an award in the Miss Sweden competition. In the US, she started appearing in films with small roles. In the movie 'Abbott and Costello Travel to Mars She got her first part as an Venusian. After her role in 'Blood alley in which she received the Golden Globe Award for 'Most promising young actor.' Her filmography included many different films which included the War between Italy and America, as well as the drama film War and Peace, the Western 'Valerie,' the British crime-adventure film The Man Inside and the Italian/French drama The Dam on the Yellow River.'
